We have two yellow-rumped warblers that hang around our suet feeder. I'm assuming they have a nest nearby...I'm hoping to spot its location.

Western Kingbird
This Western Kingbird loves to perch on this little tree support post in our front yard. It is a joy to watch him hunt flying insects. I hope his focus is mostly mosquitoes. Ha! Ha! Notice It's raining here, but Spring has arrived? Our little birch tree has buds. 😀

Empty Nest - All 5 Baby Bluebirds fledged today, May 23, 2020
Though our world is experiencing this Covid 19 Pandemic - Nature seems to be carrying on with life, never seizing to amaze us.
EMPTY BLUEBIRD NEST - Stay tuned for a second batch.
Two are usually raised in the same box per season.
Those of you raising bluebirds for the first time, please remove the first nest, clean the box and re-hang. They will build a new clean nest for their second clutch of eggs.
Total count from our yard to date is 61 fledges.

Delayed
So sorry my viewers.
I have been detained, however, I'm ready to get back to this blog.
We had much going on with last year's fledgings. Hawks in the yard, Our beloved Lady passed away and we got a new dog who was under training in the backyard. Just much going on. I know you birder guys and gals can relate. I'd like you all to know that all blues did fledge successfully. YAY!
Anyway..... We are starting a new bluebird season so I'm hoping to post more.
Thanks for your patience.

New Bluebird Eggs
Sometimes the simplest things give the most joy. Found upon coming home; Six BlueBird eggs. If these successfully fledge, we'll have assisted 46 BB'S back into our conservation environment.
Wish us Luck!

Bread for Birds?
Is it OK to give wild birds our leftover whole wheat bread to eat?
It is discouraged feeding bread to birds, as there are far too many potential risks. Bread gets moldy quickly and mold can pose a number of health problems for birds. If the chunks of bread are too large they can actually block the digestive tract Bread doesn't have much value as a food food source for your favorite fliers, so when it's fed to them on a regular basis, it can cause nutrient insufficiencies. Bread is also more likely to attract raccoons, rats and other unwelcome guests.
